Turkmenistan has initiated the organization of an international forum titled "Central Asia: A Space for Peaceful Coexistence" in partnership with the United Nations. This was announced by President Serdar Berdimuhamedow during his address at the UN General Assembly.

“Central Asia, which has served for centuries as a civilizational bridge between East and West, is now called upon to revive its historic mission — to become a platform for dialogue, cooperation, and the convergence of values and worldviews,” the Turkmen leader emphasized.

The forum will bring together countries of the region, as well as other interested states and international institutions.
