Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and First Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC, will pay an official visit to Turkmenistan from April 15 to 17. Visiting as a special envoy of President Xi Jinping at the invitation of the Turkmen government, the Vice Premier’s mission highlights the deepening strategic and energy ties between the two nations.

The central highlight of the visit will be the official ceremony marking the commencement of the fourth phase of development at the Galkynysh gas field, one of the world's largest natural gas reserves. Ding Xuexiang’s presence at this inauguration underscores China's long-term commitment to participating in Turkmenistan's major energy infrastructure projects. This phase is expected to significantly bolster gas production capacities to meet growing regional and international demand.

In addition to the industrial launch, the Vice Premier will preside over the Chinese delegation at the 7th meeting of the Chinese-Turkmen Cooperation Committee. The discussions will focus on expanding bilateral trade, enhancing technological exchange, and optimizing transport links within the framework of global economic initiatives. This committee serves as the primary mechanism for coordinating large-scale joint ventures across multiple sectors.
