New facilitation measures have been introduced for citizens of Turkmenistan planning to travel to China. According to official information from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Turkmenistan, Turkmenistan nationals will be able to obtain short-term Chinese visas without submitting fingerprint data until 31 December 2026.
This simplified procedure applies to all short-term visas issued for a period of up to 180 days. Applicants from Turkmenistan will be exempt from providing biometric information, including fingerprints, which significantly streamlines the visa application process and supports closer cooperation between China and Turkmenistan.
However, for citizens of Turkmenistan who intend to reside in China and apply for residence permits after entry, the existing requirements remain unchanged. Applicants for D, J1, Q1, S1, X1 and Z visa categories will still be required to submit fingerprints in accordance with established regulations.

The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.
Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.
This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
