The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan has officially approved the work and rest schedule for 2026. In Turkmenistan, there will be a total of 12 official public holidays across all regions.
Workweek formats are as follows:
Five-day workweek — 40 hours
Six-day workweek (7 hours/day) — 40 hours
Six-day workweek (6 hours/day) — 36 hours
The public holidays in Turkmenistan in 2026 are:
January 1 — New Year
March 8 — International Women’s Day
March 20 — Oraza Bayram
March 21–22 — National Spring Holiday
May 18 — Constitution and State Flag Day of Turkmenistan
May 27–29 — Gurban Bayram
September 27 — Independence Day
October 6 — Day of Remembrance
December 12 — International Neutrality Day
On the workday preceding a public holiday, working hours are reduced by one hour. The same applies to night shifts, and in continuous production, the schedule is equivalent to a normal day. The average monthly working time is 166.9 hours for a 40-hour workweek and 150.5 hours for a 36-hour workweek. This ensures a balanced labor schedule throughout Turkmenistan in 2026.

Weather conditions across Turkmenistan are expected to turn colder during the week, with temperatures dropping as low as minus eight degrees Celsius and mixed precipitation forecast in several regions. This information was released by the Hydrometeorological Service of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan.
In Ashgabat, variable cloud cover is expected, with light rain mixed with snow likely toward the end of the week. Winds will shift from southeast to northwest, occasionally strengthening to 15 meters per second. Nighttime temperatures in Turkmenistan’s capital will range from slight frost to +2°C, while daytime highs will reach between +3°C and +11°C.
The Balkan region of Turkmenistan will see precipitation mainly in the second half of the week. Nighttime temperatures will fluctuate from −4°C to +5°C, with daytime readings rising to +14°C, though coastal areas will remain cooler. Wind speeds may reach up to 17 meters per second.
In Ahal province of Turkmenistan, rain mixed with snow is expected at both the beginning and end of the week. Temperatures will drop to −5°C at night and rise to around +12°C during the day.
Similar weather patterns are forecast for Mary and Lebap provinces of Turkmenistan, where mixed precipitation will occur intermittently and daytime temperatures may reach +13–14°C.
The coldest conditions in Turkmenistan are anticipated in Dashoguz province, where nighttime temperatures could fall to −8°C, with daytime values ranging from −2°C to +7°C.
