Turkmenistan has officially launched the website of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care. The platform, available at hemayat.gov.tm, is designed to enhance transparency and accessibility of the foundation’s activities for citizens of Turkmenistan and international partners alike.

The website provides comprehensive information about the foundation’s mission and key areas of work in Turkmenistan, along with news updates, photo and video content, practical guidance and contact details. The digital platform serves as a bridge between the foundation, society and the global humanitarian community.

Established in March 2021 at the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the foundation focuses on providing extensive support to children deprived of parental care, financing complex medical treatments and surgeries, implementing rehabilitation programs, supporting social integration, and strengthening international cooperation on child protection issues in Turkmenistan.

Over the past four years, the foundation has assisted hundreds of children and financed more than 700 surgical procedures and recovery programs. Numerous charitable projects have been implemented both within Turkmenistan and abroad. The organization has opened a branch in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, maintains active cooperation with UNICEF, and continues to expand its international partnerships.

The foundation consistently supports pediatric hospitals across Turkmenistan by donating modern ambulances, hemodialysis equipment and advanced medical technologies. Under its patronage are the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Children’s Rehabilitation Center in Arkadag city, as well as similar medical and educational institutions in the capital and regions of Turkmenistan.

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.

Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.

This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
