In honor of the upcoming 81st anniversary of Victory Day, students from the joint Turkmen-Russian school named after A.S. Pushkin conducted a series of commemorative activities. A delegation of fourth-grade students visited World War II veteran Sergey Agamyan at his home to offer their gratitude and holiday greetings. The children performed poems and songs prepared specifically for the occasion, while the veteran recounted his wartime experiences and offered advice to the younger generation.
The memorial program extended beyond the capital as students traveled to nearby villages to pay their respects at local monuments. They visited the memorial dedicated to fallen Turkmen soldiers in the village of Yasmansalyk and the monument honoring home front heroes in Gokje. At each location, the students observed a minute of silence and laid flowers, demonstrating their commitment to honoring the sacrifices made during the conflict.
The presence of the students in these communities drew interest from local residents and fellow students from regional schools, who joined in the remembrance ceremonies. These visits underscore the importance of historical education and the role of youth in maintaining national traditions of respect and gratitude toward war heroes. Such initiatives are key to ensuring that the history of the 81-year-old victory remains relevant to today's society.

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.
Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.
This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
