Within the structural framework of the President of Turkmenistan’s annual "Türkmeniň Altyn asyry" state arts festival, the Mary provincial stage of the "Çalsana, bagşy!" music competition was officially finalized. The artistic selection targeted young folk vocalists and dutar musicians, taking place at the Kemine State Drama Theatre. The event drew considerable interest from public and academic circles dedicated to traditional music preservation, with extensive coverage provided by the "Turkmenistan" newspaper.

The evaluation panel, composed of recognized master musicians and veteran national performers, graded the contestants based on rigorous criteria matching academic standards of folklore preservation. The jury focused closely on instrumental technique, the precision of vocal intonation, linguistic accuracy in delivering historic poetic lyrics, and overall stage presentation. The competitive performances highlighted the effective continuation of classical Turkmen musical schools among the younger generation.

Following a competitive assessment within the instrumentalist category, top honors were awarded to Aynazli Rahmanova, a fourth-year student at the Folk Music Faculty of the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory, and Kerven Seyitniyazov, a dutar instructor at the Yolaman Hummayev Special Music School in Mary. Both individuals earned high scores from the judges due to their technical proficiency and authentic execution of traditional musical pieces.

In the vocal category for traditional bagshis, the highest commendations went to Kerim Kakageldiyev, director of the Rafsanjany village cultural center in the Bayramaly district, and Oguljennet Hojakova, a fifth-year student at the Turkmen National Conservatory. These selected regional winners have qualified to represent Mary Province in the upcoming final national stages of the competition in Ashgabat, an initiative critical for discovering young prospects in the field of intangible cultural heritage.
