In a significant move for the global energy market, Turkmenistan is preparing to launch the fourth phase of developing its super-giant "Galkynysh" gas field. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced this upcoming historic project during a speech at a groundbreaking ceremony for a new residential township in the Yoloten district. The President emphasized that the expansion of the field is a cornerstone of the nation’s socio-economic strategy, aimed at boosting industrial output and securing Turkmenistan's position as a leading energy exporter.

The "Galkynysh" field remains one of the world’s largest onshore natural gas reserves, and its fourth development stage is expected to substantially increase extraction and processing capacities. This phase will play a critical role in fulfilling international gas supply contracts and meeting growing domestic demand. According to the Head of State, the Mary region will continue to see the construction of powerful industrial enterprises alongside cultural and social facilities, transforming the area into a modern industrial hub.

President Berdimuhamedov reiterated that the primary goal of such large-scale economic initiatives is the welfare of the people. He noted that the systematic development of the country's regions, the creation of new production facilities, and the modernization of infrastructure are all designed to ensure a prosperous life for every citizen and family in Turkmenistan.
