Young Engineer 2026 Competition Concludes in Turkmenistan

The "Young Engineer 2026" competition recently took place in Ashgabat, bringing together nearly 200 students from across Turkmenistan. Held at the facilities of the "Ojar Asia" private enterprise, the event provided a platform for students in grades 7 through 12 to showcase their technical expertise. The participants competed in various formats, highlighting their abilities in both individual and collaborative engineering projects.

Winners were selected in several specialized categories that reflect current technological trends. In the field of smart production and service technologies, students from the Ashgabat International School secured the top spots. Meanwhile, participants from specialized schools in the capital and the Balkan region excelled in robotics, programming, and the highly competitive "BattleBots" category, demonstrating advanced logical and mechanical skills.

A significant outcome of this event is the selection of a national team for upcoming international engagements. The top five performers in the robotics category have earned the opportunity to represent Turkmenistan at the "First Global Challenge 2026" world championship. This follow-up success comes after the Turkmen student delegation achieved victory in the "Skills Challenge" category during last year's global forum in Panama.

The competition was co-organized by the Ashgabat committees of the Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Party, the Ministry of Education, and the Magtymguly Youth Organization. According to the organizers, these events are instrumental in advancing educational reforms and fostering innovation among the youth. The initiative aims to provide students with the necessary tools and recognition to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital and industrial landscape.

















Turkmenistan Develops Bio-Agent to Neutralize Methane Emissions

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.

Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.

This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
