Construction of a New Electrical Substation Commences in Koneurgench District
14 May. 17:28A new small-scale electrical substation is currently under construction in the Koneurgench district of the Dashoguz province, aimed at reinforcing the regional power grid. According to reports from official sources, the construction phase has moved into the foundational stage, where structures for powerful equipment and automated control systems are being established. This initiative represents a critical step in the ongoing modernization of the energy infrastructure in Turkmenistan's northern territories.
The primary function of the upcoming facility is to receive and transform electricity supplied from the Dashoguz State Power Plant. Once fully operational, the substation will facilitate a reliable power supply for industrial complexes, public utilities, and residential consumers across the Koneurgench district. Commissioned by the "Dashoguzenergo" production association, the project is designed to meet contemporary technical requirements and enhance the overall efficiency of energy distribution within the province.
The project planning takes into account the future growth potential of the district’s energy infrastructure, ensuring that the facility can handle increased loads as new economic entities emerge. A significant aspect of this development is that the new substation will replace the outdated "Novcha" facility, which has surpassed its operational lifespan. Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.
Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.
