Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Education Meets with UK-Based AQA Delegation
On September 18, Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Education held an official meeting with representatives from the UK’s AQA Global Assessment Services. The delegation included Sean Crowley (Director of International Business Development), Anna Green (Director of Assessment Systems), and Wali Hussein (Regional Advisor), according to the ministry’s website.
Deputy Minister of Education Azat Atayev expressed Turkmenistan’s strong interest in deepening collaboration with AQA, emphasizing the importance of adopting advanced assessment methods to enhance the quality of education.
One of the key areas of focus was modernizing the student graduation assessment system and aligning learning outcomes with the needs of the labor market.
AQA Global has successfully led numerous educational projects around the world, including in Central Asia. The organization offers support in areas such as:
implementation of national assessment systems;
supporting reforms in professional standards;
digitalization of examination systems;
methodological support in education policy development.
The meeting also covered strategic approaches to educational system planning and analysis based on international standards and data-driven practices.

From January to October 2025, mutual trade between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan amounted to 404.7 million US dollars, according to data published by the Kazakh analytical platform LSM.
During the ten-month period, Turkmenistan significantly increased its exports to the neighboring country. Export volumes rose 2.3 times to 242.5 thousand tons, while their total value reached 156.3 million dollars. The most dramatic growth was recorded in the soft drinks sector, where shipments expanded more than eightfold. Exports of sulfuric acid increased by 4.1 times, and deliveries of household detergents grew by 31%.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan’s imports of goods and services from Kazakhstan totaled 248.3 million dollars during the same period, marking a slight decrease of 0.9% year-on-year. At the same time, the physical volume of Kazakh exports to the Turkmen market increased by 29%, reaching 266 thousand tons.
