Winners of Creative Contest Organized by “Turkmenistan” Newspaper and DPT Announced

A formal award ceremony marking the conclusion of the creative contest “Turkmenistan — the Homeland of Peace and Trust” was held at the Center of Public Organizations in Ashgabat. The event brought together representatives of public associations, political parties, media outlets, and prize-winning authors.

The competition was launched earlier this year by the editorial board of the Turkmenistan newspaper in cooperation with the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, and was dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, the 34th anniversary of national independence, and the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality. The initiative attracted strong interest from writers and researchers across the country.

Throughout 2025, the editorial office received numerous submissions distinguished by their originality, contemporary relevance, analytical depth, and richness of ideas.

Following the jury’s evaluation, the grand prize was awarded to writer Ahmet Halmyradov and poet Bibi Orazdurdyyeva.

The list of overall winners also included:
Ejegyz Charyyeva — PhD in Philology, senior researcher at the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences;
Mayagozel Babayeva — PhD in Economics, chief specialist at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection;
Juma Orazgylyjov — PhD in History, senior researcher at the Institute of History and Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences;
Agamyrat Baltayev — PhD in History, head of the Department of Theatres and Performance Institutions of the Ministry of Culture;
Oraz Abdyyev — correspondent for the Turkmenistan newspaper;
Dursun Tekeyeva — literary editor of the journal World Literature.

All award recipients were presented with certificates of honor and valuable gifts during the ceremony.

Ashgabat to Host the Winter Cup 2025 Intellectual Tournament

On December 21, Ashgabat will host the Winter Cup 2025 intellectual competition organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan. The tournament format includes two rounds, each featuring 12 questions.

Only teams that have completed prior registration will be eligible to participate. Following the main rounds, the top two teams will advance to the final stage to compete for the title of the best winter team of 2025.

The event will take place at the “Angar” resto-club, located at 41 Archabil Avenue. The tournament will begin at 12:00 PM.

The official working languages of the competition are Turkmen and Russian.
