Turkmenistan Encourages Youth Research Through a National Scientific Competition
10 Jan. 05:50Turkmenistan has launched a nationwide initiative aimed at fostering scientific creativity and research skills among young people. A new competition for scientific works has been announced through a joint effort of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan.
Eligible participants include young researchers of Turkmenistan under the age of 35 who submit independently conducted scientific studies. Individuals who have previously won this competition are not permitted to participate again, ensuring equal opportunities for new talents across Turkmenistan.
Submitted research papers must be prepared in the Turkmen language and meet established academic formatting standards. Limitations apply to the title length, while the content must demonstrate substantial depth, proper structure, inclusion of national symbols, and a comprehensive bibliography. These requirements reflect Turkmenistan’s commitment to maintaining high scientific and educational standards.
The competition will be conducted in three stages and will conclude in June, coinciding with the national Science Day of Turkmenistan. Research papers will be accepted until mid-February 2026 at the headquarters of the Magtymguly Youth Organization in Ashgabat, after which they will be reviewed by a specialized evaluation panel.

Entrance Examinations for Higher and Secondary Vocational Institutions Completed in Turkmenistan
24 Aug. 18:38Turkmenistan has officially concluded its admission campaign for higher and secondary vocational educational institutions for the 2026–2027 academic year. Held between July 13 and August 24, 2026, the examination process was conducted under state commission oversight and public supervision. Notably, entrance exams at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University and the International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs were administered using a standardized testing format.
Following the examination results, over 18,000 applicants were admitted to higher education institutions. Under the newly implemented "Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education in Turkmenistan for 2026–2052," several new academic tracks were established across specialist, bachelor's, and master's degree levels, aligning with the "Atlas of Future Professions." Priority admission status was granted to international competition winners, top athletes, and high school medalists.
