A high-profile ceremonial event highlighting Turkmenistan’s key achievements in 2025 was held at the Mekan Palace in Ashgabat. Organized by the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, the gathering was titled “The Year of International Peace and Trust: Confident Steps of Neutral Turkmenistan.”

The event brought together members of the Government of Turkmenistan, representatives of the national diplomatic service, heads and staff of foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Ashgabat, as well as citizens, professionals from various sectors, and youth of Turkmenistan.

Opening the ceremony, officials emphasized the strategic importance of 2025 for strengthening Turkmenistan’s statehood. In his address, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that 2025 marked a decisive stage in Turkmenistan’s political, economic, social, and foreign policy development.

Special emphasis was placed on Turkmenistan’s active engagement in international cooperation frameworks, including the “Central Asia Plus” dialogue. Throughout the year, Turkmenistan maintained intensive high-level contacts with major global partners such as China, Russia, the United States, Japan, the European Union, and Italy, while bilateral exchanges and official visits continued to expand.

Speakers also highlighted that Turkmenistan hosted and initiated numerous international conferences and forums in 2025, all aimed at reinforcing peace, mutual trust, and global security. Representatives of the United Nations, foreign governments, and diplomatic missions praised Turkmenistan’s constructive role on the international stage.

The event concluded with a formal award ceremony honoring diplomats and citizens of Turkmenistan with a commemorative medal and silver badge marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
