In January, students from schools and universities of Turkmenistan achieved notable success in international academic competitions. A total of 62 medals were earned by Turkmenistan’s representatives at subject Olympiads held both in-person and online.

The results were announced by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Orazdurdyyeva during a Government meeting reviewing the country’s social and humanitarian performance for January.

The report emphasized that Turkmenistan continues to implement wide-ranging educational reforms focused on introducing advanced teaching methods, nurturing a well-educated younger generation, and enhancing the professional qualifications of teachers.

Alongside education, Turkmenistan carried on activities under the national “Saglyk” (“Health”) program. Medical and preventive institutions operated according to schedule, while children requiring specialized treatment received surgeries and medical care funded by the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation.

Measures were also taken to promote physical education, sports, and the Olympic movement in Turkmenistan, including systematic training of athletes for the Olympic Games and major international sporting events.

Summarizing the report, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to further align education with modern global standards, expand healthcare development based on international best practices, and strengthen the preparation of professional athletes.
