Turkmen Conscripts Take the Oath of Allegiance in Military Units

Military units across Turkmenistan are holding solemn ceremonies during which newly enlisted soldiers take the Oath of Allegiance. This tradition represents a significant milestone of the autumn draft conducted in line with the Constitution of Turkmenistan and the Law “On Military Duty and Military Service.”

The ceremonies take place on the parade grounds of military units in the presence of the conscripts’ families. After completing their introductory training — which includes drill exercises, physical conditioning, studying military regulations, safety requirements, and basic weapon specifications — the recruits publicly pledge for the first time to defend the independence, territorial unity, and constitutional order of Turkmenistan.

Young soldiers shared their impressions. Maksat Geldiyev noted: “Taking the oath is a moment you remember for life. Serving in the army is an honorable duty, and I am proud to stand among those who protect our homeland.”

Another recruit, Amanmurat Kakayev, expressed his aspiration to pursue a military career: “Since childhood, I dreamed of dedicating myself to the army. After completing my conscription service, I intend to remain in the Armed Forces and contribute to strengthening Turkmenistan’s defense capability.”

The day after the oath, servicemen begin advanced combined-arms and specialized training, receive their first assignments, and commence performing their duties according to the daily schedule.

The oath ceremonies will continue throughout the draft period established by the Presidential Decree of Turkmenistan, issued by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, for October–December 2025.

















Turkmenistan Develops Bio-Agent to Neutralize Methane Emissions

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.

Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.

This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
