In 2026, the United States will issue a commemorative one-dollar coin dedicated to Steve Jobs — the visionary entrepreneur and co-founder of Apple Inc., widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in the tech industry.
This decision comes 15 years after his passing in 2011. The coin is part of a federal program that annually recognizes individuals and achievements that have left a lasting mark on society.
The design will feature a young Steve Jobs seated in a serene California landscape — the state where he was born, launched Apple, and spent much of his life.
The 2026 edition will also include coins honoring agronomist Norman Borlaug, known for his innovations in grain crop productivity, and the team behind the Cray-1 supercomputer, which revolutionized high-performance computing.
Steve Jobs co-founded Apple in 1976 alongside Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. Under his leadership, iconic devices such as the iPhone, iPad, and Mac redefined personal technology and transformed how people interact with the digital world.
