Turkmenistan Expands Healthcare Infrastructure with New Medical Facilities and Construction Projects
On October 10, 2025, Turkmenistan launched a series of new healthcare projects, including the opening of modern facilities and laying foundations for future medical centers. The events marked the national Healthcare Workers and Medical Industry Day.
New Health Center Opens in Ashgabat
A state-of-the-art health complex opened in the capital, offering services in family medicine, emergency care, diagnostics, radiology, physiotherapy, and women’s health.
The facility features advanced equipment such as the KR-800 eye diagnostic system by Japan’s Topcon Healthcare, the Acuson NX3 ultrasound machine from Germany’s Siemens Healthineers, and the AI-integrated MULTIX Impact digital X-ray system for remote diagnostics.
Patients can also receive guidance on the use of medicinal plants, based on scientific resources authored by academician Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
New Infectious Disease Hospital in Mary Region
In the village of Täze güýç, a 300-bed infectious disease hospital has been inaugurated. Built as part of a national social infrastructure initiative, it spans 9 hectares and includes 17 specialized departments.
Equipped with technology from leading manufacturers in Japan, Germany, the US, and the UK, the hospital also features a digital patient management system and pneumatic capsules for transporting samples to laboratories. Equipment from Aesculap and Sport-TeC GmbH supports early diagnosis and post-treatment rehabilitation.
Major Medical Projects Begin Construction
Foundation-laying ceremonies were held for three key healthcare facilities: a 500-bed general hospital in Ashgabat, a 300-bed center in Tejen, and a 400-bed Mother and Child Health Center in Dashoguz.
These institutions will be equipped for complex surgeries and high-level diagnostics, enhancing access to quality healthcare across the country.
To honor those involved in the construction, commemorative gifts were awarded. New ambulances, donated on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, were also delivered to support the infectious disease hospital in Mary region.
These efforts reflect the state’s long-term commitment to public health and modernization of medical infrastructure.
