A professional development program aimed at enhancing the skills of Turkmen medical specialists has concluded in Turkmenistan with the participation of professors from South Korea’s Pusan National University.

The visiting delegation included experts in acupuncture, the pharmacology of medicinal herbs, and the theoretical foundations of Korean traditional healing. The course, conducted at the International Center for Education and Science of Turkmenistan, consisted of four stages combining theoretical lessons with hands-on demonstrations.

Throughout the program, participants studied diagnostic principles used in Korean traditional medicine, practiced acupuncture techniques and rehabilitation methods, and learned about the use of herbal remedies and plant-based medicinal preparations. The curriculum also featured clinical case discussions and experience-sharing sessions, enabling doctors to apply new knowledge to their medical practice.

Organizers emphasized that the initiative contributes to expanding the professional capabilities of Turkmen doctors, promoting the use of both modern and traditional treatment methods, and strengthening international cooperation in healthcare.

Earlier, Turkmen specialists completed practical training at the Korean Medicine Hospital of Pusan National University, where they observed the integration of traditional healing practices with modern medical technologies.

Upon completion, participants received certificates recognizing their successful completion of the program and improved professional qualifications.

A rye-wheat loaf preserved in a freezer for 36 years has been put on public display as part of the permanent exhibition at the Deutschlandmuseum in Berlin. Dubbed "The Last Loaf of the GDR," it was originally purchased on June 26, 1990, by student Michael Hagedorn, who bought an extra loaf fearing potential food shortages amidst the economic unification of East and West Germany.

The museum's director, Robert Rückel, described the unusual artifact as a unique poignant symbol of everyday human decisions during times of monumental geopolitical change. To maintain its preserved state, the museum installed a custom refrigeration unit where the historical loaf remains permanently frozen for visitors to view.
