South Korea Provides Turkmenistan with USD 220,000 Worth of Technical Equipment for the MFA Institute
04 Feb. 04:33The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan has received a set of modern technical equipment supplied by the Republic of Korea, with a total value of USD 220,000. The official handover ceremony took place on February 3 under the framework of the 2025 Small Grant Official Development Assistance (ODA) program.
The event was attended by Mr. Kim Jun Chhol, Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Korea, and Gülşat Yusupova, Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan. The initiative reflects South Korea’s support for projects contributing to Turkmenistan’s socio-economic development.
The delivered equipment is intended to enhance the technical infrastructure of the higher education institution in Turkmenistan and will be utilized in line with the objectives of international assistance programs aimed at improving educational quality.
During the meeting, the representatives also exchanged views on opportunities to further strengthen bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea throughout the year. Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to cooperate closely in implementing planned joint activities.

24 Aug. 14:45The Swiss Government has officially opened the application cycle for its Excellence Scholarships for the 2027–2028 academic year. The program target young specialists and researchers from Turkmenistan seeking to conduct post-graduate research or pursue doctoral studies at top Swiss universities and research institutes.
Key applicant requirements:
A Master’s degree or equivalent academic/professional credential;
Age limit: born after December 31, 1991;
A detailed research proposal including a timeline, core methodology, and planned objectives;
An official letter of academic sponsorship from a host professor in Switzerland;
For applicants currently residing in Switzerland, the entry date must not precede August 1, 2026.
The grant includes a monthly allowance, health insurance coverage, partial housing subsidies, and travel expenses. Research fellowships range from 6 to 12 months in duration. Electronic application submissions will remain open through November 27, 2026. Application procedures for Turkmen citizens are overseen by the Embassy of Switzerland in Baku.
