On February 13, during an extended Cabinet meeting chaired by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, a decision was made to restructure the management of the national road sector.
Under the signed decree, the State Agency for Road Construction Management has been dissolved. In its place, the Ministry of Automobile Roads of Turkmenistan has been established as the legal successor to the former agency.
The newly formed ministry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan, and the Ministry of Justice of Turkmenistan, has been tasked with preparing within one month draft regulations governing its activities, its central administrative structure, staffing levels, salary scales for leadership positions, and proposed legislative amendments for submission to the Cabinet of Ministers.
Hangeldi Shirdogdyevich Kerimov has been appointed Minister of Automobile Roads.
