Turkmenistan is celebrating the national holiday for healthcare and medical industry workers with large-scale initiatives and development efforts. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated professionals in the field and emphasized the essential role of a strong healthcare system in the country’s development strategy.

Over the past 30 years since the launch of the “Saglyk” national program, Turkmenistan has built a robust foundation in medicine, expanding its healthcare infrastructure with advanced hospitals, research centers, sanatoriums, and pharmaceutical enterprises.

Key medical projects include the International Physiology Center in Ashgabat, the Maternal and Child Health Center and Multispecialty Hospital in Arkadag, a pediatric hospital, a major oncology center, and new sanatorium buildings in Ahal Province. These facilities aim to ensure high-quality medical care across the country.

At the "Arkadag Medisina Klasteri Menejment" facility, pharmaceutical products are being developed using locally sourced, eco-friendly ingredients. Doctors from Turkmenistan continue to improve their skills abroad, including training in European medical centers. Turkmen-German medical forums also facilitate exchange of best practices.

The Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation supports children in need of care by funding treatment, diagnostics, and equipping hospitals with the latest technology. International organizations, including WHO and UNICEF, recognize Turkmenistan’s efforts in improving healthcare access.

The ongoing International Exhibition and Conference showcases advancements in healthcare, education, and sports under the era of national transformation. Across the country, modern schools, kindergartens, creative hubs, and sports venues are being built — creating a platform for future global events.

President Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed that citizens' health remains a core focus of national policy and thanked medical workers for their dedication. He extended wishes of success, happiness, and strength to all participants of the forum and professionals in the field.

Ahal will conclude their AFC Champions League group stage campaign with a match against Al-Hussein. Turkmen football club Ahal will play their final AFC Champions League group stage match against Jordanian Al-Hussein in Amman on December 23. Ahal played three matches in the group stage and earned one point, eliminating their chances of advancing to the knockout rounds. In the first matchday of the group stage, Ahal defeated Indian side Mohun Bagan 1-0 away. However, the Asian Football Confederation later excluded the Indian club from the tournament for failing to appear for an away match against Sepahan and annulled the result of the match against the Turkmen team. In the second round, Ahal lost 4-1 to Al-Hussein at home. In the match against Iranian Sepahan, the Turkmen club put in a solid performance. Ahal lost the first match 1-0 and drew 2-2 in the second. Both matches took place in Isfahan. One of the matches was originally scheduled to take place in Arkadag, but the AFC decided to move the game to Iran.
