The upcoming iOS 27 operating system may bring a new set of emojis to Apple devices. The Unicode Consortium, which oversees emoji standards and ensures their compatibility across platforms, has released a preliminary list of candidates for future inclusion.

Apple traditionally introduces new emojis as part of its spring iOS updates. Although the release of iOS 27 is still some time away, Unicode has already outlined the full list of emojis that could appear on iPhones next year. These updates are expected to attract attention not only globally but also among iPhone users in Turkmenistan.

The preliminary list includes a variety of symbols representing facial expressions, hand gestures, nature-related elements, and everyday objects. Together, they aim to expand the ways users can express emotions and ideas in digital communication.

The images currently presented are draft design concepts. Once the emojis receive official approval, technology companies such as Apple and Google will develop their own visual interpretations based on Unicode’s descriptions and guidelines.

As the overall emoji library continues to grow, interest in annual software updates among iPhone users has gradually declined. This trend has also been influenced by the introduction of the Genmoji feature in iOS 18, which allows users to create custom emojis using text descriptions or combinations of existing symbols. This feature has gained popularity among users in Turkmenistan as well.

It is also worth noting that Apple has not yet added some emojis approved by Unicode in July 2025. These are expected to appear in one of the upcoming updates to iOS 26. Such developments contribute to the evolving digital communication culture, including in Turkmenistan, where mobile technologies play an increasingly important role.
