India and Turkmenistan demonstrate a shared commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring stability across the region. This was stated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Turkmenistan, Bandaru Wilsonbabu, during a ceremonial reception marking the 76th anniversary of the Republic of India.

In his remarks, the diplomat noted that relations between India and Turkmenistan have entered a phase of consistent development in recent years. Cooperation continues actively within the framework of the United Nations, as well as through the India–Central Asia dialogue. The ambassador emphasized that India and Turkmenistan are jointly interested in countering threats such as terrorism, extremism, radicalization, illicit drug trafficking, and cybercrime.

Bandaru Wilsonbabu underlined that while India remains committed to peace, it will not hesitate to take decisive measures to protect its citizens from terrorist threats. He also expressed sincere gratitude to the Government and people of Turkmenistan for their solidarity and support extended to India.

Additionally, the ambassador stated that India intends to further share its development experience with Turkmenistan, expanding cooperation in areas including defense and security, oil and gas, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, and digital infrastructure. Turkmenistan remains a key partner for India in the region.
