President of Turkmenistan Attends Official Dinner at Akasaka Palace in Tokyo

During his official visit to Japan, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in a formal state dinner held at the Akasaka Palace in Tokyo. The event formed an important element of the diplomatic agenda of Turkmenistan’s head of state in the Japanese capital.

Earlier in the day, the President of Turkmenistan held a series of high-level meetings in Tokyo, including discussions with members of the Japanese Parliament, executives of major Japanese corporations, and an audience with the Emperor of Japan. These engagements highlighted the growing political and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan.

Following the meetings, the presidential motorcade of Turkmenistan arrived at Akasaka Palace, where President Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed by the Prime Minister of Japan. On behalf of the Prime Minister and his spouse, an official dinner was hosted in honor of the leaders of Central Asian countries, underscoring Turkmenistan’s constructive role in regional diplomacy.

The working visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Japan is ongoing, reflecting Turkmenistan’s strategic commitment to strengthening international partnerships.

















Entrance Examinations for Higher and Secondary Vocational Institutions Completed in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan has officially concluded its admission campaign for higher and secondary vocational educational institutions for the 2026–2027 academic year. Held between July 13 and August 24, 2026, the examination process was conducted under state commission oversight and public supervision. Notably, entrance exams at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University and the International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs were administered using a standardized testing format.

Following the examination results, over 18,000 applicants were admitted to higher education institutions. Under the newly implemented "Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education in Turkmenistan for 2026–2052," several new academic tracks were established across specialist, bachelor's, and master's degree levels, aligning with the "Atlas of Future Professions." Priority admission status was granted to international competition winners, top athletes, and high school medalists.
