The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Saudi Arabia, Muhammetgeldi Yazov, held talks with Fuad bin Fahad Ibrahim, Executive Director of the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation. The meeting was reported by the press service of the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan.

During the discussion, both sides explored promising areas for expanding cooperation in equestrian sports and horse breeding. The Saudi representative outlined the key activities and strategic priorities of the Federation in promoting equestrian disciplines.

The Turkmen diplomat informed the Saudi side that 2026 has been officially designated in Turkmenistan as the year of “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan — the Homeland of Swift Horses.” He emphasized that Turkmenistan places strong state-level emphasis on developing the equestrian sector, increasing the population of the renowned Akhal-Teke horses, and further enhancing the global reputation of Turkmen horse breeding traditions.

The meeting also addressed practical aspects of establishing mutually beneficial partnerships between Turkmenistan and the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation, highlighting shared interests and long-term cooperation opportunities.
