"Magtymguly Pyragy" Wins Grand Prize at International Film Festival in Bulgaria
The Turkmen-Uzbek feature film "Magtymguly Pyragy" has won the Grand Prize at the 13th International Film Festival held in Bulgaria, according to ussatnews.com.
This marks yet another major achievement for the film, which has previously earned accolades in London, Kazan, and at the 4th International Gorkut Ata Film Festival, where it was named Best Feature Film.
Set in the 18th century, the film portrays the life journey of the renowned Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy, including his studies at Kukeldash Madrasah in Bukhara and Shergozikhon in Khiva.
The film was directed by Muzaffar Erkinov from Uzbekistan. The role of Magtymguly was played by Turkmen actor Ahmet Amanmuradov, while the poet’s father, Dowletmammed Azadi, was portrayed by Chary Berdyev, People's Artist of Turkmenistan.
This international recognition highlights not only the filmmakers’ artistic excellence but also the growing global interest in the rich cultural legacy of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

A Series of Events Promoting the Russian Language and Culture to Be Held in Ashgabat
From November 24 to 28, Ashgabat will host a series of cultural and educational events as part of the Russian Federation’s state program “Support and Promotion of the Russian Language Abroad,” according to the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture “Rosconcert.”
The program features performances by the Ural State Academic Russian Folk Choir, a traditional Russian folk gathering by the Moscow Folk Choir, as well as educational seminars and master classes focused on the Russian language.
Additionally, visitors will be able to attend an exhibition of traditional Russian costumes from the private collection of Sergey Glebushkin.
