International Academic Olympiads to Be Held at Universities of Turkmenistan
24 Jan. 08:57International-level academic Olympiads are set to take place at higher education institutions across Turkmenistan. This was reported by Deputy Chairperson of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Orazdurdyyeva during a regular digital meeting of the Government of Turkmenistan.
According to information broadcast by the “Watan” news program, several major international competitions are scheduled for March this year in Turkmenistan. The Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction will host the 5th Open International Online Olympiad in Strength of Materials. The International University for the Humanities and Development of Turkmenistan will organize the 6th Open International Mathematics Olympiad, while the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan will conduct the 5th Open International Online Olympiad in Theoretical Mechanics.
These Olympiads are expected to bring together scholars, professors, and students from higher education institutions of Turkmenistan, alongside participants from leading universities around the world. In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister submitted relevant proposals for consideration by the President of Turkmenistan.
After reviewing the report, the President of Turkmenistan noted that educational reforms are being successfully implemented nationwide, with strong emphasis placed on identifying talented youth and strengthening international academic cooperation of Turkmenistan. The Head of State approved the proposal to hold international Olympiads at universities of Turkmenistan and instructed officials to carry out the required organizational work.

Entrance Examinations for Higher and Secondary Vocational Institutions Completed in Turkmenistan
24 Aug. 18:38Turkmenistan has officially concluded its admission campaign for higher and secondary vocational educational institutions for the 2026–2027 academic year. Held between July 13 and August 24, 2026, the examination process was conducted under state commission oversight and public supervision. Notably, entrance exams at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University and the International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs were administered using a standardized testing format.
Following the examination results, over 18,000 applicants were admitted to higher education institutions. Under the newly implemented "Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education in Turkmenistan for 2026–2052," several new academic tracks were established across specialist, bachelor's, and master's degree levels, aligning with the "Atlas of Future Professions." Priority admission status was granted to international competition winners, top athletes, and high school medalists.
