The Saparmurat Turkmenbashy State Drama Theater from Turkmenistan’s Balkan region is taking part in the 3rd International TURKSOY Theater Festival, held from September 21 to 26 in the city of Aktau — the designated cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2025.

On September 26, the Turkmen theater ensemble will perform their play "Baýram han türkmen" at the Nurmukhan Zhanturin Regional Music and Drama Theater.

The festival features nine theater groups from countries such as Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Hungary, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan — all showcasing some of their most outstanding performances that celebrate Turkic cultural heritage.

The jury comprises prominent directors, playwrights, and theater critics from the participating nations. In addition to stage performances, the festival includes a rich program of educational and professional events. A major highlight was the 11th meeting of the Council of Theater Directors, which focused on the theme: “Turkic World Theaters: Cultural Integration, Creative Dialogue, and Modern Trends in Development.”

Workweek formats are as follows:

  • Five-day workweek — 40 hours

  • Six-day workweek (7 hours/day) — 40 hours

  • Six-day workweek (6 hours/day) — 36 hours

The public holidays in Turkmenistan in 2026 are:

  • January 1 — New Year

  • March 8 — International Women’s Day

  • March 20 — Oraza Bayram

  • March 21–22 — National Spring Holiday

  • May 18 — Constitution and State Flag Day of Turkmenistan

  • May 27–29 — Gurban Bayram

  • September 27 — Independence Day

On the workday preceding a public holiday, working hours are reduced by one hour. The same applies to night shifts, and in continuous production, the schedule is equivalent to a normal day.
