Ashgabat Prepares for Peace Forum: Turkmenistan Strengthens Diplomatic Dialogue

Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, held telephone talks with his counterparts from Malaysia and Uganda — Mohamad Hasan and Jeje Odongo — as part of the country’s diplomatic preparations for the upcoming International Forum for Peace and Trust, scheduled for December 12 in Ashgabat.

During the call with Malaysia’s foreign minister, the parties discussed political, economic, and cultural cooperation, as well as engagement within regional and international organizations.

In the conversation with Uganda’s foreign minister, discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations and strengthening multilateral collaboration, particularly within the framework of the United Nations.

According to Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry, these exchanges are part of broader efforts to promote global dialogue ahead of the December event, which aims to serve as a platform for fostering peace, trust, and sustainable development.

A Series of Events Promoting the Russian Language and Culture to Be Held in Ashgabat

From November 24 to 28, Ashgabat will host a series of cultural and educational events as part of the Russian Federation’s state program “Support and Promotion of the Russian Language Abroad,” according to the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture “Rosconcert.”

The program features performances by the Ural State Academic Russian Folk Choir, a traditional Russian folk gathering by the Moscow Folk Choir, as well as educational seminars and master classes focused on the Russian language.

Additionally, visitors will be able to attend an exhibition of traditional Russian costumes from the private collection of Sergey Glebushkin.
