Turkmenistan emerges as a new global tourism hub: TurkmenTravel — 2026 takes place in Ashgabat
14 Apr. 10:23The international exhibition and conference TurkmenTravel — 2026 is being held in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, marking one of the most significant events in the country’s tourism sector aimed at strengthening international cooperation and promoting its tourism potential.
Turkmenistan is opening its doors to visitors from around the world, showcasing a unique blend of ancient history, rich cultural heritage, and modern urban development.
The UNESCO World Heritage List UNESCO includes outstanding sites such as Ancient Merv, Nisa, and Kunya-Urgench, as well as sections of the Great Silk Road — Amul–Merv. These landmarks reflect the region’s millennia-old history and its vital role in global civilization.
At the same time, modern symbols of the country — Ashgabat, the innovative smart city Arkadag, and the coastal resort Awaza — represent a new image of Turkmenistan as an emerging destination for international tourism.
The forum brings together representatives of the tourism industry, international organizations, airlines, hospitality companies, and experts. Key topics include tourism digitalization, eco-tourism development, medical and educational tourism, and expanding investment cooperation.

10 Oct. 07:33A multi-sector international exhibition and scientific conference celebrating National Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Industry Workers' Day officially opened at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Expo Center in Ashgabat. In his official greeting to attendees, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted the ongoing integration of advanced technologies and international collaboration. The President noted that key landmarks during this 35th anniversary year of independence include the opening of new International Centers for Oncology, Pediatrics, and Dentistry, alongside modern expansions at the "Archman" health resort.
Running through October 12, the three-day event serves as a global platform uniting state ministries, international manufacturers, medical specialists, and researchers. The agenda encompasses interactive exhibition stands, technical sessions, specialized workshops, and strategic B2B and B2G business negotiations.
