Turkmenistan is moving toward establishing a regional aviation training center focused on civil pilot education in line with international aviation standards. The initiative was discussed during a recent Cabinet meeting.

Deputy Prime Minister Mammedkhan Chakiyev reported that local flight instructors are currently undergoing training on Diamond aircraft and obtaining international certifications. This groundwork will enable the country to offer pilot training to foreign students under the regulations of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the proposal and instructed relevant authorities to begin phased implementation of the project. He emphasized that advancing aviation education is a strategic step toward integrating Turkmenistan into the global civil aviation network and strengthening its role in the region.
