On November 21, the Fine Arts Exhibition Center of the Ministry of Culture launched a new artistic showcase titled “The World of Abstraction.” The event was organized by the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan.
The exhibition brings together more than 150 works, including paintings, sculptures, and pieces of decorative and applied art. Both established creators and emerging artists working in abstract styles took part in the event.
Visitors can explore works by Gyuldzakhang Orazmammedova, Rustam Abdullaev, Tachjemal Gylychdurdyyev, Charymyrat Yazmyradov, Mammet Vepayev, Annageldi Mammetnurov, and many others. The exhibited pieces, created from 2011 to 2025, reflect a wide spectrum of stylistic approaches to abstraction.
According to the organizers, the collection stands out for its vivid color palettes and the integration of national elements, emphasizing continuity between modern artistic trends and Turkmen cultural heritage.
“The World of Abstraction” will remain open to the public for ten days.
Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.
Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.
This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
