Turkmenistan has put forward the initiative to hold a World Summit focused on the culture of peace and fostering trust among nations. This was announced by President Serdar Berdimuhamedow during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly.
“We believe that the process of aligning state approaches to global development trends, as well as establishing and strengthening trust and mutual understanding, must be systematic and consistent,” the Turkmen leader emphasized.
A key objective of the summit will be to develop a global code of international trust, which will serve as a universal foundation for building relations between countries based on respect, sovereignty, territorial integrity, as well as cooperation and joint efforts to address global challenges.

A Spanish delegation led by Ambassador to Moscow Ricardo Martinez held talks with the Minister of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation in environmental matters.
During the meeting, the ambassador congratulated the Turkmen side on the International Day of Neutrality and thanked them for the warm welcome. The discussions were later reported on the official website of Turkmenistan’s environmental authority.
The agenda included cooperation in environmental protection, joint efforts to combat desertification, and measures to address plastic waste pollution. Special emphasis was placed on Turkmenistan’s presidential initiative announced at the UN General Assembly, proposing the establishment of a regional desertification prevention center for Central Asian countries, along with potential areas of collaboration.
