The President of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, will travel to Turkmenistan in October to participate in the scheduled meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). This diplomatic development was officially announced by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Turkmenistan, Stanislav Chepurnoy. According to the diplomat, this high-level visit underlines the strategic partnership between Minsk and Ashgabat within regional multilateral institutions.

Throughout this annual cycle, Turkmenistan is utilizing the operational mechanisms of its permanent neutrality by holding the rotating chairmanship of the CIS and hosting its core statutory events. In May, Ashgabat successfully organized the CIS Council of Heads of Government session. During that event, Prime Minister of Belarus Aleksandr Turchin held a bilateral meeting with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, establishing the groundwork for the upcoming autumn summits.

For the Republic of Belarus, active engagement in integration processes across the Eurasian region constitutes a fundamental pillar of its foreign policy and international economic strategy. Minsk consistently advocates for the alignment of diverse integration frameworks, the total elimination of protectionist trade barriers, and the expansion of free trade zones for goods and services. The Belarusian state also supports deeper industrial cooperation and the engineering of secure transport corridors settled in national currencies.

Ambassador Chepurnoy highlighted that Turkmenistan has successfully conceptualized a distinct matrix of operational priorities for its current CIS chairmanship. This agenda focuses on strengthening the role of the Commonwealth as an effective platform for equal partnership, expanding collaborative efforts in energy security and environmental protection, accelerating cross-border digitalization, and reinforcing logistical and cultural ties.

Belarus fully supports the comprehensive agenda established under the Turkmen CIS chairmanship and stands ready to provide total diplomatic assistance to facilitate the execution of these joint programs. The Belarusian mission remains confident that Ashgabat's leadership will enhance the structural efficiency of integration across Eurasia. The next official summit of the CIS Council of Heads of State is scheduled to take place on October 9 in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone.
