Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan assesses national economic development for January-May 2026
05 Jun. 18:08President Serdar Berdimuhamedov presided over a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via a digital video link. The session focused on evaluating the country's comprehensive macroeconomic performance and industrial output during the first five months of the current year. Sectoral heads and government officials presented detailed structural reports on the implementation of state development goals and upcoming socio-economic strategies.
During the virtual session, the Chairperson of the Mejlis reported on systematic steps taken to upgrade the national legal framework and legislative structures. Over the past five months, the parliament enacted 6 new state laws and adopted 10 distinct resolutions. The updated legislative measures specifically targeted public rights protection, industrial safety at manufacturing plants, corporate accounting reforms, private entrepreneurship expansion, ecological preservation of biological water resources, and migration management.
The Head of State reviewed the legislative briefing and reiterated the critical importance of continuously advancing the nation's judicial and statutory framework. He stressed that legal updates must directly foster economic resilience, safeguard environmental integrity, and effectively support institutional transparency. The President instructed the legislative body to maintain close coordination with ministerial departments to ensure all new regulations align with national developmental priorities.
Subsequently, the Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers presented summaries detailing operational outcomes across the industrial, financial, agricultural, cultural, and foreign policy sectors. The President issued specific directives to the vice-premiers focused on accelerating digital integration within municipal infrastructures, boosting domestic manufacturing, and strengthening strategic bilateral relations. A series of state resolutions were signed by the leader following the high-level policy definitions.
