Turkmenistan is actively preparing for a major international football event — the match between FC Arkadag and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, which will take place in Ashgabat. The AFC Champions League Two Round of 16 fixture is set to be held at the Olympic Stadium, where organizational work is being carried out at a high professional level.

More than 500 student volunteers from across Turkmenistan have been mobilized to support the event. In particular, 89 faculty members and 507 students from the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports are participating in various organizational roles, according to reports published in the newspaper Turkmenistan.

Officials note that although students in Turkmenistan are currently on their winter break, volunteer training sessions will resume once they return to campus. Preparations began back in January, during which responsibilities for volunteers and supervising staff at the Olympic Stadium were clearly assigned.

The volunteers are also assisting in organizing a large-scale “ARKADAG” display in the stands, which will be formed by more than 5,500 fans. This initiative highlights the growing sports culture and fan engagement in Turkmenistan.

In addition, a dedicated media team has been formed to promote the match internationally. The group includes 12 lecturers and 76 talented, articulate students from leading universities of Turkmenistan. Throughout the preparation phase and on match days, they will produce reports, photographs, and video content for international audiences. To ensure professionalism, the participants have completed both online and practical training sessions.
