The Berdimuhamed Annaev Specialized Military School No. 1 in Ashgabat hosted an internal robotics championship, highlighting the technical skills and intellectual readiness of Turkmen cadets committed to serving their homeland, according to the Ministry of Defense magazine “Milli Goşun.”

Participants were given practical engineering tasks. Informatics teacher Murat Geldiyev explained that the school is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including robotics classrooms, laser training facilities, and a body-flight hall. The competition became a hands-on application of the theoretical and practical knowledge cadets develop daily while working with modern technological tools.

The new school complex was inaugurated on September 1, 2024, by the President of Turkmenistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

“Being here is both a privilege and a responsibility. This competition feels like a small test before the real challenges ahead,” said cadet Adylsha Mammettuvaqov. He noted that all participants aspire to become officers and are preparing for entrance exams to the Military Institute by studying Turkmenistan’s history and engaging in intensive physical training.

On 15 December 2025, a ceremonial reception marking the National Day of the State of Qatar was held in Ashgabat. The event was hosted by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Qatar to Turkmenistan, Nasser Ahmed Mohammed Al-Taher.

The beyan.tm team was also present at the celebration.

The Guest of Honour from the Government of Turkmenistan was Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Nazar Agahanov.

In his address, the Ambassador highlighted the historical role of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, the founder of modern Qatar, and emphasized Qatar’s active role in international mediation and peacebuilding efforts.

Special attention was given to the rapid development of bilateral relations between Qatar and Turkmenistan in 2025, supported by high-level mutual visits and close ties between the leaders of the two countries.

Guests were introduced to Qatari culture through an exhibition of traditional clothing, books about Qatar, national artifacts, and falcons — a symbol of the country’s heritage. The atmosphere was enriched by traditional music, while a calligrapher artistically wrote guests’ names upon request.
