Presidents of Turkmenistan and the United States Hold Meeting at the White House within the “C5+1” Summit
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and U.S. President Donald Trump held a bilateral meeting at the White House on the sidelines of the “Central Asia + United States” summit. According to TDH, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further expanding intergovernmental cooperation.
The meeting took place under the diplomatic framework “C5+1,” which brings together Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the United States. Established in 2015, this platform aims to enhance dialogue on key issues of partnership between Central Asian nations and the U.S.
Upon arrival at the White House, President Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed by representatives of the American side. Before the talks, he signed the Guest Book in the Roosevelt Room.
President Donald Trump expressed appreciation for Turkmenistan’s participation in the summit, while President Berdimuhamedov thanked the U.S. for the invitation, noting that the “C5+1” format provides new opportunities for strengthening bilateral relations.
He also reminded that, at Turkmenistan’s initiative, the year 2025 has been declared by the international community as the “International Year of Peace and Trust,” supported by the United States — a reflection of shared values and aspirations for partnership.
Following the meeting, the leaders confirmed their intention to deepen cooperation across key areas of mutual interest.
