Players of the Turkmen football club Ahal arrived in the Iranian city of Isfahan to take part in the AFC Champions League 2 group stage Matchday 4 against Sepahan, the club’s press service reported.

“Today, the Ahal delegation was warmly received by representatives of FC Sepahan in Isfahan, Islamic Republic of Iran. We sincerely thank Sepahan for their hospitality,” the statement read.

The match is scheduled for November 4 and will kick off at 7:30 p.m. Ashgabat time. The two sides already met in Matchday 3, when Sepahan claimed a 1–0 victory. That game was also held in Isfahan following a decision by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Originally, the match was to take place in the Turkmen city of Arkadag, but the AFC opted to move the fixture to Iran.

After two rounds, Jordan’s Al-Hussein leads Group C with six points, having defeated both Sepahan (1–0 at home) and Ahal (4–1 away). Sepahan follows with three points, while Ahal remains at the bottom without points.

Ahal’s position was further complicated after the AFC excluded India’s Mohun Bagan from the competition. As a result, the confederation voided Ahal’s 1–0 victory over the Indian champion in Kolkata during the first round. The Indian side was disqualified for failing to appear for their away match against Sepahan.
