Turkmen Sambo Athletes Win Two Silver Medals at Junior World Championship in Indonesia
04 Oct. 09:58Turkmenistan's national sambo team earned two silver medals on the opening day of the 2025 Junior World Sambo Championships, currently underway in Indonesia.
The event is being held in Bogor Regency, West Java, at the JSI Resort Megamendung sports arena. This marks the first time Indonesia has hosted the Junior Sambo World Championship.
Rasul Jabrailov won silver in the under-64 kg weight category, while Malikberdi Begiyev claimed second place in the under-88 kg division. Both athletes competed in the combat sambo discipline among junior participants.
Thirteen weight classes were contested on the first day, with top young sambo fighters from around the globe taking part. The championship will run until October 5.
