Ashgabat Strengthens Municipal Infrastructure with New Equipment in Turkmenistan
12 Jan. 12:51Municipal authorities of Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, have received a substantial upgrade to their technical fleet. Nearly two hundred units of modern specialized equipment have been delivered to support urban cleanliness, maintenance, and landscaping across the capital of Turkmenistan.
The core of the delivery consists of various types of refuse collection vehicles designed for different operational needs within Turkmenistan. These include side-loading and rear-loading garbage trucks, as well as high-capacity container carriers suitable for servicing diverse waste management systems in Ashgabat.
To ensure the cleanliness of city streets in Turkmenistan, the fleet has been expanded with advanced street-washing vehicles, sweeping machines equipped with separate water and waste tanks, and hydraulic service trucks for sewer cleaning and debris removal.
The shipment also included multiple water tankers, some of which are equipped for road-cleaning operations, along with construction trucks for transporting solid waste. To improve loading and handling efficiency, municipal services in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, have received backhoe loaders, front loaders, and telescopic excavators.
In addition, service buses for staff transportation, mobile maintenance workshops, and specialized vehicles for marking and securing roadwork zones were delivered. This comprehensive upgrade will significantly enhance the performance of municipal services and supports the long-term urban development strategy of Turkmenistan.

Specialists at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, led by Durdymyrat Gadamov and Altyn Rahmanova, have developed a new-generation bio-agent designed to neutralize soil methane emissions. The solution utilizes local bacteria adapted to the regional climate, which harness methane monooxygenase to convert methane into carbon dioxide and water.
Methane is a major contributor to global warming, with a heat-trapping capacity in the atmosphere significantly higher than that of carbon dioxide. The newly developed bio-agent features high efficiency in industrially congested areas, cost-effectiveness through the use of local raw materials, and complete safety for human health and the environment.
This scientific breakthrough aligns with Turkmenistan's sustainable development strategy, supporting its commitments under the Global Methane Pledge to enhance environmental oversight in the energy sector.
