A special event marking the 77th anniversary of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) was held at the Embassy of India in Turkmenistan. The celebration brought together members of the diplomatic community, students, cultural figures, and participants of ICCR programs.

 

The event began with a presentation video highlighting ICCR’s activities as one of India’s leading institutions in cultural diplomacy. The video showcased international educational programs, cultural initiatives, and opportunities that allow young people to explore India through academic and exchange experiences.

 

The Ambassador of India to Turkmenistan, Bandaru Wilsonbabu, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of ICCR in strengthening cultural ties between nations. He noted that the organization will continue to expand its educational, cultural, and short-term exchange programs, offering new opportunities for young people.

 

The cultural program added a vibrant dimension to the evening. Guests enjoyed yoga performances that combined elements of movement, discipline, and artistic expression. Traditional Indian dances were also performed, while Indian songs were beautifully presented by Turkmen singer Tachnabat Yomudowa, receiving warm applause from the audience.

 

Participants of ICCR programs also shared their personal experiences, highlighting how studying and visiting India opened new horizons and enriched their understanding of the country’s culture.

 

The evening concluded with a reception featuring traditional Indian cuisine, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for informal общения and networking.
