During his visit to the Republic of Austria, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty and National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held a meeting with Ms. Neda Berger, the head of the Turkmen-Austrian Society. The discussion centered on the evolving friendship between the two nations, with a particular focus on how public diplomacy and cultural initiatives can further bridge the gap between Central Asia and Europe.

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to the achievements in cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Both parties highlighted the success of the "Galkynysh" Turkmen-Austrian Symphony Orchestra, an initiative founded with the support of the National Leader. Ms. Berger described the orchestra as a unique artistic bridge that harmonizes Eastern and Western musical traditions, effectively promoting cultural diversity and mutual respect on the international stage.

The National Leader expressed his appreciation for Ms. Berger’s dedicated efforts in promoting Turkmen heritage and strengthening bilateral social ties. It was emphasized that cultural diplomacy remains a cornerstone of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, fostering long-term partnerships based on shared human values. The meeting also explored future opportunities for organizing joint exhibitions, academic exchanges, and artistic forums to maintain the current momentum of cooperation.

Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and PETRONAS Sign New Memorandum

The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn. Bhd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance cooperation in education and vocational training. The signing meeting involved Minister of Education J. Gurbangeldiyev, Malaysian Ambassador Mohd Suhaimi bin Ahmad Tajuddin, and PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) CEO Ismadi bin Ismail.

The agreement coincides with the 30th anniversary of PETRONAS's operations in Turkmenistan's oil and gas sector. Discussions focused on qualifying skilled workforce candidates for the energy industry, extending scholarship opportunities for Turkmen students at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, and advancing professional development programs.

To date, Turkmenistan and Malaysia have established nearly 20 educational agreements. During the recent visit of the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Turkmenistan, three additional agreements were finalized between local universities and Universiti Tenaga Nasional to support academic mobility and exchange initiatives.
