Source

Dear compatriots! Respected citizens!

I wholeheartedly congratulate you on the national holiday of Turkmenistan – Independence Day!
I firmly believe that this sacred holiday will further strengthen our national pride for our beloved Homeland, which is confidently following the path of prosperity and progress. It will inspire us with strength to achieve new successes and great heights.

Independence is a great treasure and the national pride of our people.
Thirty-four years ago, on the eve of the third millennium, our independence was proclaimed, and an exemplary model of a democratic, legal, and secular state was chosen, based on the path of sovereign and free development of Turkmenistan.

Throughout this glorious period, our country has pursued an independent and progressive policy, made a worthy contribution to global political, economic, and cultural progress, and has joined efforts for peace and friendly relations around the world.

In the Era of Revival of a New Epoch of a Powerful State, we continue to strengthen the foundations of our independence and neutrality, and confidently lead our country toward a great future. Therefore, we treat our sacred holiday – Independence Day – with special reverence, as it symbolizes our achievements, progress, and prosperity.

On the occasion of this historically significant holiday, we are solemnly inaugurating new social, industrial, and cultural facilities in our cities and villages, whose architectural appearance is becoming more beautiful with each passing day. We declare to the world the independence of our Motherland, and the happiness, glory, and honor of our people.

In the first month of the bountiful autumn of the International Year of Peace and Trust, when each day in our sovereign Homeland is marked by new historical events and celebrations, guided by the principles of national statehood rooted in our ancient history, we have opened the following in our capital, Ashgabat, as holiday gifts:

  • A complex of buildings for the International University for Industrialists and Entrepreneurs,

  • glass production plant,

  • The modernized park “15th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence”,

  • The modern villages Dovletli Mekan and Bagtly Zamana in Ahal province,

  • The settlement Bitaraplyk in Dashoguz province,

  • An additional academic building of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan in Mary province,

  • dormitorysports complex, and the “Täze Kuwwat” building along the bypass road,

  • As well as dozens of other facilities, demonstrating to the world the greatness of our sacred independence and era, and the unbreakable unity and cohesion of our people.

Dear compatriots!

We are successfully implementing state programs aimed at modernizing the national economy, improving the living standards and quality of life of our citizens, and constructing new villages, cities, and districts. We are carrying out extensive work to strengthen our country's position in the international community and increase its global prestige.

On the eve of Independence Day, under the chairmanship of the National Leader of the Turkmen PeopleChairman of the Halk Maslahaty of TurkmenistanHero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, another historic session of the highest representative body of people's power was held. At this session, important decisions were adopted for the further prosperity of our state and society.

Our remarkable achievements, high milestones, and glorious victories form the foundation of our progress and future great successes.

Respected compatriots!

Over the years of independence, our policy of neutrality, based on the principles of peacefulness and friendshiphumanism and trust, and originating from centuries-old national unity, has received full support worldwide and has been recognized as a new political model.

Three times recognized by the United Nations General Assembly, the permanent neutrality of our country – especially in the International Year of Peace and Trust – is the highest evaluation of our principles of peace, humanity, and goodwill by the international community.

Neutrality is a key to our rapid development and offers new opportunities to fulfill our ancestors' centuries-old dream of peace and stability, friendship, and good neighborliness.

The legal status of permanent neutrality of our independent state has become a solid international legal foundation for systematically expanding political, economic, and cultural relations with foreign countries and respected international organizations, including the United Nations, the European Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, all with the aim of ensuring peace and harmony and joining efforts for global development.

The Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, held at the highest level in the National Tourist Zone “Avaza”, became a remarkable result of the state policy of peace, goodwill, and neutrality.

Dear compatriots! Respected nation!

Once again, I sincerely congratulate you on Independence Day!

I wish you strong health, long life, immense happiness and family well-being, and great success in your work for the further prosperity of our beloved Homeland!
