Open Brain-Ring Competition Held in Turkmenistan with Students from 18 Universities

The Turkmen Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics hosted an Open Brain-Ring competition featuring teams from 18 universities across the country.
The event was organized in honor of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality and the upcoming 2026 year, under the motto: “Permanent Neutrality — Eternal Prosperity.”

According to the newspaper “Turkmenistan: Golden Age,” more than one hundred students took part in the contest.
The competition was conducted in Turkmen, English, and Russian and consisted of three rounds with 12 questions in each.

Based on the final scores, the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management and the International University of Humanities and Development shared first place.
Second place went to the teams of Magtymguly Turkmen State University and the Institute of International Relations of Turkmenistan’s MFA.
Third place was awarded to the Turkmen State Institute of Finance and the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan.

















Switzerland Opens Applications for Government Excellence Scholarships for Young Turkmen Researchers

The Swiss Government has officially opened the application cycle for its Excellence Scholarships for the 2027–2028 academic year. The program target young specialists and researchers from Turkmenistan seeking to conduct post-graduate research or pursue doctoral studies at top Swiss universities and research institutes.

Key applicant requirements:

A Master’s degree or equivalent academic/professional credential;

Age limit: born after December 31, 1991;

A detailed research proposal including a timeline, core methodology, and planned objectives;

An official letter of academic sponsorship from a host professor in Switzerland;

For applicants currently residing in Switzerland, the entry date must not precede August 1, 2026.

The grant includes a monthly allowance, health insurance coverage, partial housing subsidies, and travel expenses. Research fellowships range from 6 to 12 months in duration. Electronic application submissions will remain open through November 27, 2026. Application procedures for Turkmen citizens are overseen by the Embassy of Switzerland in Baku.
