Persian language course registration opens in Ashgabat

The Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ashgabat has officially announced the commencement of registration for its upcoming Persian language program. This educational initiative is designed to provide comprehensive language training for individuals seeking to develop their linguistic skills and cultural understanding. Prospective students are required to submit their applications before the final deadline, which is set for June 13, 2026.

To accommodate various schedules, the academic department has organized the courses into two distinct group tracking systems. The first cohort is scheduled to begin classes on June 26, with sessions held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The second cohort will commence on June 25, operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Furthermore, students can select their preferred learning hours from five available shifts spanning from 9:00 to 10:30, 10:45 to 12:15, 14:30 to 16:00, 16:15 to 17:45, and 18:00 to 19:30.

The registration process is being conducted in person at the Cultural Center premises, which is situated on Magtymguly Avenue in Ashgabat. The admissions office welcomes applicants every day of the week, except Sundays, from 10:00 to 19:00. Applicants should note that the office observes a daily afternoon break from 13:00 to 15:00, during which registration services are temporarily suspended.

Switzerland Opens Applications for Government Excellence Scholarships for Young Turkmen Researchers

The Swiss Government has officially opened the application cycle for its Excellence Scholarships for the 2027–2028 academic year. The program target young specialists and researchers from Turkmenistan seeking to conduct post-graduate research or pursue doctoral studies at top Swiss universities and research institutes.

Key applicant requirements:

A Master’s degree or equivalent academic/professional credential;

Age limit: born after December 31, 1991;

A detailed research proposal including a timeline, core methodology, and planned objectives;

An official letter of academic sponsorship from a host professor in Switzerland;

For applicants currently residing in Switzerland, the entry date must not precede August 1, 2026.

The grant includes a monthly allowance, health insurance coverage, partial housing subsidies, and travel expenses. Research fellowships range from 6 to 12 months in duration. Electronic application submissions will remain open through November 27, 2026. Application procedures for Turkmen citizens are overseen by the Embassy of Switzerland in Baku.
