From January 25 to 31, representatives of Turkmenistan’s education sector traveled to Cambridge, UK, to attend professional development courses designed for senior officials of Central Asian universities. The Ministry of Education’s official website reported on the visit.

The delegation included representatives from Magtymguly Turkmen State University, the International University of Humanities and Development, Döwletmämmet Azady Turkmen Institute of World Languages, and the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute.

The program consisted of lectures, seminars, and experience-sharing sessions. Participants learned modern approaches to leadership and strategic planning through the PRESETT system, explored teacher professional development practices, and studied the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) model.

Special focus was given to teaching English, communicative and learner-centered methodologies, the use of digital learning platforms, interactive techniques, and artificial intelligence technologies. Methods for assessing the structure and effectiveness of educational programs were also examined.

Attendees evaluated teaching methods, learning resources, and educational outcomes. Approaches to aligning foreign language programs with CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) to assess listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills were also discussed.

These activities aim to strengthen international cooperation and introduce best practices into the national education systems of Central Asian countries, including Turkmenistan.
