New Year Children’s Performance Premiered at Lebap State Musical Drama Theatre

Source

In the Lebap region of Turkmenistan, the State Musical Drama Theatre named after Seyitnazar Seydi presented a new stage production dedicated to the New Year celebrations. The theatre’s creative team prepared a fairy-tale performance for children entitled “New Year in the Forest,” inspired by Berdy Kerbabayev’s well-known work “Jonnuk Batyr.”

The original literary story was carefully adapted for the stage and directed by Suray Rahmanova, who transformed the classic narrative into an engaging theatrical performance suitable for young audiences. The production became a festive cultural event, reflecting Turkmenistan’s tradition of celebrating the New Year through art and creativity.

The plot unfolds in a forest setting where various animals interact. One of the key storylines centers on the horse of the brave hero Jonnuk Batyr, who encounters a bear and faces exhausting trials. Unable to immediately explain his hardship to his owner, the horse becomes a symbol of patience and loyalty. The characters were vividly portrayed by actors Chary Eyeberenov, Kakajan Taylyyev, and Bagtyyar Dolyyev.

The overall atmosphere of the performance was enhanced by stage design created by Honored Art Worker of Turkmenistan Myrat Haytyyev and musical arrangements composed by Ruslan Hemrayev. The production demonstrated the strong creative potential of theatre professionals in Turkmenistan and their ability to present meaningful and memorable performances for children.
