New Village “Bagtly Zamana” Inaugurated in Ahal Region

A new modern village named Bagtly Zamana was officially opened in the Gowshut Gengesh of Kaahka district, Ahal province. The ceremony was dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence.
According to TDH, the event was attended by members of the Mejlis, local government officials, representatives of community organizations, respected elders, and local residents. The celebration featured performances by local artists.
Participants toured the newly built infrastructure, which includes 400 residential homes, a school for 640 students, a kindergarten for 320 children, a shopping center, a health house, and a Gengesh administration building.
The school is equipped with modern classrooms, music and sports facilities, an auditorium, and a library. It also includes spaces for vocational training.
The kindergarten features playrooms, sleeping areas, educational classes, and computer and language labs with modern equipment.
The health house provides a wide range of medical services to local residents using state-of-the-art equipment.
The shopping center offers a variety of everyday goods, from food to household items, ensuring stable supply for the population.
The event concluded with families receiving the keys to their new, fully furnished homes. The new residents expressed their gratitude to the government for the improved living conditions in rural areas.

Official Days Off in Turkmenistan in 2026

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan has officially approved the work and rest schedule for 2026. In Turkmenistan, there will be a total of 12 official public holidays across all regions.

Workweek formats are as follows:

  • Five-day workweek — 40 hours

  • Six-day workweek (7 hours/day) — 40 hours

  • Six-day workweek (6 hours/day) — 36 hours

The public holidays in Turkmenistan in 2026 are:

  • January 1 — New Year

  • March 8 — International Women’s Day

  • March 20 — Oraza Bayram

  • March 21–22 — National Spring Holiday

  • May 18 — Constitution and State Flag Day of Turkmenistan

  • May 27–29 — Gurban Bayram

  • September 27 — Independence Day

  • October 6 — Day of Remembrance

  • December 12 — International Neutrality Day

On the workday preceding a public holiday, working hours are reduced by one hour. The same applies to night shifts, and in continuous production, the schedule is equivalent to a normal day. The average monthly working time is 166.9 hours for a 40-hour workweek and 150.5 hours for a 36-hour workweek. This ensures a balanced labor schedule throughout Turkmenistan in 2026.
